Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a technique that aids the body in
releasing stress and tension by creating deep relaxation. Because of this, Reiki
promotes healing and health. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words:

Rei which means "the Wisdom of God or the Higher Power"
- Ki which is means "life force energy"
So Reiki means "spiritually guided life force energy."
The Reiki system of healing is a technique for transmitting this subtle energy to
yourself and others through the hands, into the human energy system. Reiki
restores energy balance and vitality by relieving the physical and emotional
effects of unreleased stress. It gently and effectively opens blocked meridians,
nadis and chakras, and clears the energy bodies, leaving one feeling relaxed and
at peace.
What
Reiki can do:

Assist the body in cleansing toxins.

Balance the flow of subtle energy by releasing blockages.

Reiki treats the person’s body, emotions, mind and spirit as a

Reiki is powerful, yet wonderfully gentle and
nurturing.
During a treatment, the client remain fully clothed,
since Reiki is not a massage. However it is often integrated with another
therapy treatment.

Reiki supports any medical, or supplemental healing method a
client may be using and is of growing interest to chiropractors, medical
doctors, physiotherapists, psychotherapists, psychologists and hypnotherapists.
Anyone can learn to tap into an unlimited supply of 'life force energy' to
improve health and enhance the quality of life by learning Reiki, or by
receiving treatments from a Reiki Practitioner.

The Reiki Principles
are a set of traditional guidelines that are essential to the Reiki system.
These are all common-sense ideas for bringing harmony into our lives, yet our
society doesn't usually consider them necessary.

Miracles are expressions of Love that cause
changes in perception, which in turn alters the temporal order of events.

Miracles have no limitations; coming from God;
Who has no limitations.

They are natural, healing occurrences, commonly
seen everyday, and the birthright of all people.

Actually living by all
these ideas may not be quite so easy. Our healing attempts become far less
effective when we fail to employ these concepts in our daily lives, as we lose
our harmony with the Universal Life Energy.
